Lazy Sundays
drawing circles
in the soft side of tomorrows.

We grew into
new worlds,
caressing constellations
into being.

(Days inside this room,
just the us of things.)

I wanted to be an astronaut
when I was kicking kickballs
on the playground,

exploring worlds
beyond the universe.

(I found that wonder again,
my feet growing lemon trees
with solid roots.)

There are whole universes
in your lips on mine

when your breath
fills my lungs.
